Deccan College Nature Club is established on 6th October 2013 on the occasion of Foundation Day of the Institute. The Institute has a large campus of about 110 acres. The campus and all properties located on it belong to the Deccan College Poona Trust, created thanks to the Consent Decree given in 1938 by the Hon'ble Bombay High Court. It has a number of buildings meant for academic, administrative and residential accommodation. It has two hostels for boys, two for girls and a guest house.
Large area of the campus is occupied by thick natural vegetation constituting herbs, shrubs, trees and climbers. The flora of Deccan College campus is rich and extremely interesting. It provides home for animals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, butterflies, insects, honeybees, etc.
The Deccan College authorities have established Deccan College Nature Club for environmental education, conservation and protection of biodiversity on the campus. It is the centre for nurturing of knowledge, Enlisting the co-operation of volunteers and the inflow plough of new ideas and their implementation.
